Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal Pledges to Enhance Parliamentary Efficiency and Transparency

Kathmandu. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has stated that he views his new responsibility as an opportunity to learn and improve. Speaking at an interaction program with journalists held at Singha Durbar on Friday, he committed to continuing past best practices while correcting flawed precedents.

During the interaction, Speaker Aryal urged the media to play a constructive role. Noting that society cannot be transformed by merely attacking those in office, he said, 'Point out mistakes, but also give us a chance to correct them. Only constructive suggestions and criticism help keep us on the right path.' He also expressed his expectation for concrete suggestions from journalists regarding how to make parliamentary activities more transparent and what level of access should be provided to the media.

Aware of the slow legislative process, Speaker Aryal stated that he would accelerate parliamentary work. 'I am aware of the fact that justice delayed is justice denied,' he said, 'Therefore, our effort will be to draft and implement laws as quickly as possible.' He assured that he would work in a way that citizens can directly feel the presence of the state and the government.

Discussing the future of children, he expressed the view that parents should focus on making their children self-reliant rather than just accumulating wealth for them. 'We should not develop things for our children, but rather create an environment where they can do things for themselves,' he said.

During the interaction, Speaker Aryal also mentioned that the dignity of the parliament can only be maintained through the cooperation and suggestions of all parties.
