Vice President Yadav Urges New Year as a Catalyst for Positive Change and National Unity

Kathmandu. Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has urged citizens not to view the New Year merely as a change in the calendar. In a message of greetings on the auspicious occasion of New Year 2083, he emphasized that this day should be celebrated as a festival to initiate new endeavors, foster positive thinking, and commit to a healthy lifestyle. He expressed his belief that the New Year will bring discipline and stability to personal lives.

Vice President Yadav noted that the New Year serves as a bridge to strengthen social and cultural belonging and brotherhood. He called upon everyone to unite in addressing shared challenges such as economic progress, education, health, and environmental conservation. He specifically highlighted the need for a firm commitment to mitigating the impacts of climate change. He expressed hope that the New Year will inspire everyone to strengthen the federal democratic republic by following the path of proportional representation and good governance envisioned by the Constitution.

In his message, the Vice President highlighted indigenous festivals celebrated with great joy in the Terai-Madhesh region, such as 'Satuwain', 'Judshital', and 'Siruwa Pawani'. He also specifically recalled the famous 'Biska Jatra' of the Kathmandu Valley. He stated that these festivals and processions not only enhance mutual harmony and goodwill among Nepalis but also showcase Nepal's cultural diversity and historical pride to the world.

The Vice President believes that such special occasions strengthen Nepal's unique identity. He mentioned that the familial intimacy seen in Siruwa Pawani and the active community participation in Biska Jatra greatly assist in passing down our cultural heritage to future generations. Finally, while wishing for the good health and progress of all Nepalis at home and abroad, he expressed his confidence that the New Year will further invigorate national unity.
