Rural Tourism is a Pillar for Economic Prosperity and Social Transformation: Vice-Chair Dahal

Kathmandu. National Assembly Vice-Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal has stated that rural tourism is not only a medium for economic prosperity but also a strong foundation for social transformation.

Inaugurating the 27th Annual General Meeting and 13th Convention of the Village Tourism Promotion Forum Nepal (VITOF) today, he emphasized that with a clear vision, mutual cooperation, and firm commitment from stakeholders, the country can be developed into one of the world's premier rural tourism destinations.

Highlighting the need for tourism-friendly legislation for the sustainable development of the sector, Vice-Chair Dahal noted that long-term tourism policies, investment security, clear legal frameworks, and robust legal foundations for international promotion are essential.

VITOF President Shakuntala Devkota stated that the forum has been playing an active role in the development, expansion, and promotion of rural tourism in the country.

During the event, entrepreneurs active in the promotion of rural tourism were honored and awarded.
