Rajendra Raut Secures Landslide Victory in FNCCI Koshi Province Election

Biratnagar. Rajendra Raut's panel has achieved a resounding victory in the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Koshi Province election, establishing complete dominance over the leadership. Raut was elected for a second term as president with a significant margin during the federation's eighth assembly held in Biratnagar.

Raut secured a clean sweep, leaving his closest rival, Nabin Rijal's group, far behind. With this win, Raut has also avenged his defeat from eight years ago in the Morang Merchants Association executive committee election, where his team had lost.

According to the final election results, Raut received a total of 142 votes for the presidential post, while his rival Nabin Rijal managed only 58 votes. The electoral arithmetic shows that Raut defeated Rijal by a wide margin across all categories.

In the associate category, Raut secured 107 votes against Rijal's 39, while in the district-municipal category, Raut received 24 votes compared to Rijal's 13.

Similarly, in the commodity category, Raut garnered 11 votes while Rijal could only manage 6. Having been elected unopposed in the election held in Jhapa three years ago, Raut has proven his popularity by entering the electoral fray this time.

In the election, Rishi Raj Timsina from Jhapa was elected unopposed as the vice-president for the district-municipal category, Rajan Shrestha from Biratnagar for the commodity category, and Rabin Dahal from Biratnagar as the associate vice-president. Likewise, Shravan Kumar Agrawal from Biratnagar was selected unopposed as treasurer, while Devki Nandan Agrawal and Bhavish Kumar Shrestha were elected unopposed as associate members. Voting was held only for the member positions after the office-bearer level was decided unopposed.

Raut's panel also dominated the member positions. Krishna Prasad Rijal, Raju Dhungana 'Rajiv', Jayaprakash Sharma, Harka Bahadur Shrestha, and Nabin Kumar Chaudhary were elected as open members from the district-municipal category. Similarly, Subash Acharya and Deepak Pandey emerged victorious as members from the commodity category.

All these elected members contested from Rajendra Raut's group, resulting in the establishment of his full panel in the executive committee.

A total of 205 voters participated in the selection of this new leadership for the FNCCI Koshi Province. This included 38 votes from district-municipal chambers of commerce and industry, 19 from commodity associations, and 148 from associate members.

With this historic victory, Rajendra Raut has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the private sector of Koshi Province for the next three years.
