Election Heat Intensifies for FNCCI Koshi Province Leadership

Biratnagar. Election fervor has intensified for the selection of the new leadership of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Koshi Province. The ongoing convention in Biratnagar features a competitive race between current President Rajendra Raut and Central Member Nabin Rijal, both running with their respective panels. Both sides have entered the electoral fray claiming a guaranteed victory.

While a tight contest is observed for the presidential post, leadership for several key positions has been selected unanimously. According to Election Officer Bikas Thapa, Rabin Kumar Dahal has been elected unopposed as the Vice President for the Associates category. Similarly, Rishi Raj Timsina as Vice President for the District/Municipal category, Rajan Shrestha as Vice President for the Commodity category, and Shrawan Kumar Agrawal as Treasurer have also been elected unopposed. For the member positions, Devki Nandan Agrawal and Bhabish Kumar Shrestha have been elected unopposed from the Associates category.

Voting is currently underway for the Commodity and District/Municipal member positions that could not be decided unanimously. In the Commodity member category, Subash Acharya, Dhan Bahadur Kafle, and Deepak Pandey are competing, while seven candidates are in the fray for the District/Municipal member positions. 

Earlier, while inaugurating the eighth provincial assembly of the federation, Central President Chandra Prasad Dhakal stated that the private sector contributes 86 percent to the country's development and emphasized that economic prosperity is only possible through the utilization of natural resources and tourism.
