CPN-UML Secretariat meeting unveils six key decisions

Kathmandu. The CPN-UML Central Secretariat meeting has made six key decisions public.

The meeting, held on Friday under the chairmanship of Acting Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal', reached decisions on matters including the selection of the parliamentary party leader.

What were the decisions?

1. Selection of Parliamentary Party Leader: The party clarified that the parliamentary party leader was selected through democratic procedures and that there was no external interference.
2. Correction of Controversial Remarks: The party conducted a serious review of the remarks made by Acting Chairman Badal in Parliament regarding the Nepal Army, civil administration, and other constitutional bodies, clarifying that the party's respect and goodwill toward these institutions remain intact.
3. Condemnation of Cyber Attacks: The party condemned the planned cyber attacks against its leaders and cadres and demanded legal action against the culprits.
4. Opposition to Ban on Student Organizations: The party strongly opposed the government's decision to dissolve and ban student organizations.
5. Opposition to Advertising Policy: The party demanded the withdrawal of the government's decision to provide government advertisements only to state-owned media, stating that it curtails press freedom.
6. Safety of Nepalis in Foreign Employment: The party demanded that the government ensure the rescue and safety of Nepalis who have become vulnerable due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
