Two suspects who escaped from Pathari police custody rearrested in Morang

Biratnagar. Police have rearrested two defendants who had escaped from the custody of the Area Police Office, Pathari, in Morang.

They were in custody for investigation in a drug-related case when they escaped during the Gen-Z protests that took place last Bhadau.

The arrested individuals are 24-year-old Subarna Rai and 21-year-old Suman Rai, residents of Letang Municipality-3, Morang. A special police team from the Area Police Office, Pathari, located and apprehended them on Chaitra 19 while they were hiding at their respective homes.

According to the District Police Office, Morang, the two defendants managed to escape from custody by taking advantage of the tense situation created during the protests on Bhadau 23 and 24, 2080.

District Police Office, Morang Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lilaraj Lamichhane stated that they are currently being held at the Area Police Office, Pathari, where further legal action and investigation processes are underway.
