CPN-UML Holds Emergency Secretariat Meeting Amid Controversy Over Vice-Chair's Remarks

Kathmandu. An emergency secretariat meeting of the CPN-UML has been ongoing for nearly four hours. The meeting, held at the party's central office in Chyasal, is primarily focused on the remarks made by Vice-Chair Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' in Parliament on Thursday. 

‘Other issues are also being discussed,’ said Dr. Bhishma Adhikari, Secretary of the CPN-UML Central Office, ‘The meeting has been ongoing for nearly four hours.’

The meeting began at 1:00 PM. During the first session of the House of Representatives on Thursday, Vice-Chair and Parliamentary Party leader Thapa stated that facts indicate the army, civil servants, and both domestic and foreign organizations played a decisive role in ensuring the victory of the RSP in the election held on Falgun 21. 

Badal's statement faced strong opposition from leaders and cadres within his own party. Another Vice-Chair, Bishnu Paudel, had indicated via social media that the matter would be discussed in the secretariat.
