A.D. Lama Panel Announced for FNCCI General Assembly and Convention

Kathmandu. A panel led by Senior Vice President Ang Dorji (A.D.) Lama has been announced for the 26th General Assembly and 13th Convention of the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FNCCI). Lama's group publicized its candidacy during a program held in Kathmandu on Monday.

Roshan Dahal for Senior Vice President, N.P. Sherpa for Associate Vice President, Shivahari Ghimire for General Secretary, and Balaji Shrestha for Treasurer will contest from this panel. Addressing the candidacy announcement program, Lama discussed the government's plan to amend the Public Procurement Act.

He stated that they are committed to working according to the government's plans, noting that although they have drawn the attention of the Parliament to amend the Procurement Act for the past three years, it has not been successful due to political instability. Hearing that the new government has promised to amend the Act within 30 days, he complained that the demands of the business community have been overshadowed by repeated dissolutions of Parliament.

Lama urged construction entrepreneurs to operate their businesses with honesty, without falling for any temptation. He emphasized that all construction entrepreneurs, small and large, must fulfill their responsibilities within professional limits rather than remaining in doubt about whether to work or not.

The Federation's convention, starting Tuesday, will elect a new leadership, with the Lama group making the reform of the Procurement Act and the welfare of entrepreneurs its main agenda.
