Iranian Officials Claim US Airstrike Damaged Mahan Air Plane at Mashhad Airport

Tehran. A Mahan Air aircraft was damaged in a US airstrike at Iran's Mashhad airport on Monday. Iranian officials claimed this incident created an obstacle to Iran's predetermined goal of collecting humanitarian aid materials from India. 

The aircraft was preparing to fly to New Delhi this week to bring necessary medicines and other health supplies for Iranian citizens. Although the Iranian side stated that the aircraft was damaged due to the attack, US officials have not yet officially confirmed this claim. 

According to the information received, the damaged aircraft was scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on April 1. Amidst the humanitarian crisis in Iran, India had previously sent the first phase of medical assistance through the Iranian Red Crescent Society on March 18.

The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi had also expressed gratitude to the Indian government and its people for the assistance. Mahan Air is a private airline company in Iran that operates flights to various countries in West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, and East Asia.
