Outgoing PM Sushila Karki to Vacate Official Residence as Balen Shah Takes Oath

Kathmandu. Outgoing Prime Minister Sushila Karki is set to vacate the official residence in Baluwatar on the same day that senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah (Balen), takes the oath as the new Prime Minister.

Balen Shah is scheduled to take the oath of office before President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday, Chaitra 13.

'Immediately after the new Prime Minister takes the oath, the current Prime Minister will leave the official residence in Baluwatar and return to her private residence,' said Ram Rawal, Press Advisor to Prime Minister Karki.

Prime Minister Karki had been residing in the official residence in Baluwatar since her appointment as Prime Minister on Bhadra 27.

Karki, who received a mandate to hold elections within six months following the Janji movement, is now preparing to return to her private life after completing the elections and the announcement of the results, handing over power to the new Prime Minister.
