Federal Parliament Secretariat Finalizes Preparations for House of Representatives Oath-Taking and Initial Sessions

Kathmandu. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has announced that preparations are complete for the oath-taking ceremony of the members of the House of Representatives and for the initial sessions of the House. Informing journalists about the current status of the parliament building under construction at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, the Parliament Secretariat stated that all necessary preparations have been finalized in the multipurpose hall for the oath-taking and the initial meetings.

According to the Secretariat, the initial phase meetings will be held in the multipurpose hall because the main hall of the House of Representatives has not been constructed yet. Ekram Giri, spokesperson for the Federal Parliament, informed that arrangements are being made for seating, the rostrum, the Speaker's seat, the Secretary General, Secretary, and the area for the Secretariat staff.

He mentioned that arrangements have also been made in the new building near the multipurpose hall for the Business Advisory Branch, the Business Advisory Committee hall, and the Speaker's office. Spokesperson Giri stated that looking at the construction status of the new parliament building, it appears that all meetings of the first session of parliament after the oath-taking will take place in the multipurpose hall.

He added that operating meetings from the multipurpose hall presents significant complexities, and therefore, they are requesting the concerned bodies to complete the construction of the parliament building as soon as possible. The Parliament Secretariat has announced that the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected members of the House of Representatives will take place in the multipurpose hall on Chaitra 12.
