Morang District Records 35 Tuberculosis Deaths in Fiscal Year 2081/82

Morang. Thirty-five people have died from tuberculosis in the district in the fiscal year 2081/82. During an interaction with journalists organized here on Monday by the Morang Health Office and Wagmati Sewa Samaj on the eve of World Tuberculosis Day, Health Office official Mulakchand Rajbanshi informed that 35 people died from tuberculosis in one year.

According to him, 30 people died from tuberculosis in the fiscal year 2080/81, while 35 people have died so far in the current fiscal year. So far in the current fiscal year, 909 tuberculosis infected individuals have been identified in the district, compared to 1,222 infected individuals found in the last fiscal year.

A higher number of tuberculosis infected individuals have been found in the Sundarharaicha, Pathari Shanishchare, and Urlabari areas of Morang. The government's goal is to eradicate tuberculosis from Nepal by 2050. World Tuberculosis Day is being observed in Nepal on Tuesday with the slogan, 'Yes! We will end TB, National Campaign, Our Contribution.'

On this occasion, it was also informed during the program schedule that a rally will be held on Tuesday to raise public awareness about tuberculosis, starting from Birat Medical College in Budhiganga, Morang, which will then parade through the Tankisinhwari municipal area, followed by a corner meeting.
