Separate Immigration Desk Launched at Tribhuvan Airport for Nepali Diaspora

Kathmandu. A separate desk has been brought into operation at Tribhuvan International Airport for Nepali citizens living abroad and Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs).

The Tribhuvan International Airport Immigration Office has started providing services by establishing special desks in the arrival and departure halls of the airport. According to Narahari Ghimire, Chief Immigration Officer at the Tribhuvan International Airport Immigration Office, previously, separate desks were arranged for NRNs and for individuals from visa-free countries.

Now, a separate desk arrangement has also been made at immigration for foreign citizens of Nepali origin. This arrangement has been made with the objective of further strengthening the connection to the Nepali language, culture, and motherland, as well as promoting tourism and investment.

According to a decision made by the Department of Immigration on Chaitra 8, a separate line and immigration desk for foreign citizens of Nepali origin have been arranged in both arrival and departure sections of the Tribhuvan International Airport Immigration Office, as mentioned in a press release issued by the Immigration Office today.
