Home Minister Honors Officials for Successful House of Representatives Election Management

Kathmandu. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal honored the employees of the Home Ministry and security agencies who played a role in successfully conducting the House of Representatives elections. Minister Aryal honored the employees and security personnel with letters of appreciation at a program organized at the ministry today.

Minister Aryal honored Home Ministry Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, Defense Ministry Secretary Kedarnath Sharma, Army Chief of Staff Pradip Jung KC, Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, Chief of National Investigation Department Tekendra Karki, officials of the District Security Committees of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, and senior officials of the Home Ministry with letters of appreciation. He also extended congratulations and appreciation to the officials of the District Security Committees and all employees and security personnel deployed in the election.

He stated, "We have established a new standard by successfully concluding the election in a historic manner; there was no bloodshed in this election. We did not have to re-conduct the election. Positive results were achieved due to the collective leadership system and strong coordination among all stakeholders. It is necessary to maintain this in the coming days."

Minister Aryal stated that the role played by the active security committees from the center to the district level, the construction command force, the security cell, and responsible government officials in making the election successful in an encouraging manner was historic and accountable to the state.

"The creativity and capability of the officials deployed in the election are commendable," Minister Aryal said, "In many past incidents, leadership might have given instructions without fully understanding the situation. Instructions might have been given without screening or understanding the matter based on what others said. But this time, we screened properly, considered a lot before decisions were finalized, and coordinated. We worked based on the coordinated decisions that were made; the role of security agencies at all levels in this is remarkable."

Defense Ministry Secretary Aryal mentioned that success was achieved through strong coordination and cooperation during the election. Home Ministry's Head of Security and Coordination Division and Spokesperson Anand Kafle mentioned that positive results were achieved in maintaining election security and law and order due to the judicious and coordinated leadership of the Home Ministry.
