Former Minister Gokul Baskota Mocks Sher Bahadur Deuba Over Nepali Congress Internal Strife

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader and former minister Gokul Baskota has made a sarcastic remark about former President Sher Bahadur Deuba, linking him to the internal conflict within the Nepali Congress. Amidst the legal disputes and the legitimacy crisis of various committees within the party, Baskota interpreted Deuba's 'silent politics' as a 'well-planned strategy'.

Commenting on social media platform Facebook, he stated that the fact that President Deuba called a meeting of the old committee while the legal dispute concerning the Nepali Congress was still pending in the Supreme Court sent a special signal.

He said, 'It is heard that Sher Bahadur Deuba, considered a master player of silent politics, has called a meeting of the old committee. This shows that he is confident that the court's verdict will come in his favor.'

To make his comment more pointed, Baskota used Nepali proverbs and imagery. Baskota said, 'They used to say, the game belongs to the player, but the victory belongs to the novice. Maybe this is what's happening? I doubt it. Someone else struck Lanka—I don't know.'
