Nepali Congress General Secretary Presents 10-Point Vision Amidst Party Deliberations

Kathmandu. General Secretary Pradip Paudel presented a 10-point perspective on the Nepali Congress party's current status, future direction, and political environment during a meeting of the party's Central Working Committee.

In the meeting, he praised President Gagan Kumar Thapa's resignation, tendered taking moral responsibility for the election results, as an "example of high morality." He further opined that the resignation should be rejected, stating that leadership stability and collective responsibility are essential during a crisis.

General Secretary Paudel noted that the current political achievement is the result of decades of struggle by the Congress for democracy, suggesting that the rise of new forces should be seen as a sign of the maturity of the democratic system. He deemed the "victory of the system" more significant than the election results.

According to him, the Congress has established new political standards this time, including fair competition, participation of the new generation, and the end of unnatural alliances. Furthermore, he claimed that the party's 'Manifesto' serves as a clear roadmap for national transformation, offering solutions to complex governance issues.

General Secretary Paudel mentioned that voters supported liberal democratic ideology, asserting that the Congress's policies and principles have triumphed. However, he clarified that although the party appears externally weak at present, its ideological and organizational roots are deep.

He acknowledged negative propaganda, digital misinformation, and populism as challenges, emphasizing that the party must now adopt modern communication styles to effectively convey its achievements to the public.

He outlined a strategy for the Congress to play the role of a constructive opposition in parliament in the coming days, while also raising public issues from the streets. He committed to advancing a nationwide renaissance campaign coupled with internal reform and purification within the party.

General Secretary Paudel stated that the current situation should be viewed as an opportunity for self-assessment, asserting that the Congress will once again become the leading force.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a resolution was passed to reject the President's resignation, accept the Vice President's report as a guiding document, and move forward with party unity.
