Activists Rally in Kathmandu on International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

A special program was organized today at Maitighar Mandala in the capital on the occasion of the 61st International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. During the event, attended by a large number of Dalit rights activists, human rights defenders, and civil society members, a strong voice was raised for the eradication of caste-based discrimination and untouchability.

During the program, Khagendra Sunar, a Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), stated that the fight against caste discrimination is above positions and power.

Reaffirming his commitment to social justice, he said, 'Whether I am in government or not, I will not stop raising my voice against caste discrimination. If our own government makes a mistake on this issue, I will fearlessly raise my voice against that too.' Photos: Nepal Photo Library
