Nepal's Home Ministry Announces Eid-ul-Fitr Holiday on Saturday

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that the great festival of Muslims, Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr), will fall on Saturday. 

 The ministry informed that according to the letter received from the Muslim Commission, this year's Eid falls on Saturday, and extended best wishes to the followers of Islam. 

The ministry's statement mentioned the provision for a public holiday on the day of Eid as per the notice published in the Nepal Gazette. The press release, signed by Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry, Anand Kafle, extended heartfelt best wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all followers of Islam residing in the country and abroad, as well as to all Nepali brothers and sisters.

Although the notice published in the Gazette on Falgun 15, 2081, already mentioned a holiday for Eid, the ministry issued a formal notice based on the Commission's recommendation, as the festival is determined by sighting the moon.
