Fifteen Arrested Across Nepal in Separate Drug Seizures

Fifteen individuals have been arrested in various locations across the country in connection with illegal narcotics. The arrests took place in districts including Kathmandu, Banke, Kanchanpur, and Rautahat.

In Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14, Kalanki, police arrested 30-year-old Ramchandra Gautam, a resident of Kavre, on Thursday night, seizing approximately 3 grams of a substance resembling brown sugar and NPR 23,500 in cash. Police from the Kalimati Police Circle made the arrest.

Similarly, in Banke's Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Vishal Chowk, police arrested two individuals on Thursday evening, seizing approximately 5 grams and 180 milligrams of a substance resembling brown sugar.

Those arrested were identified as 26-year-old Ramansingh Rathore and 30-year-old Sarojsingh Chaudhary, both residents of the same sub-metropolitan city-1. Police deployed from the District Police Office, Banke, made the seizure.

Furthermore, in Kanchanpur's Belauri Municipality-10, Sadakghat, police arrested two individuals late last night, including 25-year-old Yadav Tamouli, a resident of Dadeldhura's Amargadhi Municipality-1, seizing approximately 14 grams and 720 milligrams of a substance resembling brown sugar.

Police from the Area Police Office, Beldandi, and Police Post, Bhunda, apprehended them while they were traveling from India to Nepal on a motorcycle with registration number Se.7 Pa. 2099, where the substance was found.

In another incident, police arrested four individuals on Friday morning at the same location, Belauri Municipality-10 Sadakghat in Kanchanpur, seizing approximately 15 grams and 160 milligrams of a substance resembling brown sugar.

The arrested individuals were identified as 27-year-old Surendra Saud, a resident of Kailali's Godawari Municipality-3 Malakheti; 26-year-old Hikmat Bohara, a resident of Kanchanpur's Shuklaphanta Municipality-11 Kaluwapur; 24-year-old Dipendra Bista, a resident of Krishnapur Municipality-5 Gulariya; and 28-year-old Janak Singh Dhami, a resident of Darchula's Shailyashikhar Municipality-6 Ullani.

Police deployed from the Area Police Office, Beldandi, found the substance while inspecting a Hiace van with registration number Sudurpaschim Pradesh 02-001 Ja 630, leading to the arrest of the driver Surendra, co-driver Hikmat, and passengers Dipendra and Janak.

Additionally, in Rautahat's Fatuha Vijayapur Municipality-5, Santapur Tole, police arrested 50-year-old Tejilal Yadav and his 22-year-old son Lalbabu Yadav on Thursday afternoon, seizing 1 kilogram and 920 grams of illegal cannabis (marijuana).

Police from the Area Police Office, Santapur Dostia, found the cannabis during a search of the grocery store operated by Tejilal in the same locality, leading to the arrest of both.

Meanwhile, in Makwanpur's Manahari Rural Municipality-7 Rupachuri, police arrested 32-year-old Devchandra Ghale on Thursday afternoon, seizing 3 kilograms and 478 grams of a substance resembling opium.

Police deployed from the Area Police Office, Manahari, made the arrest with the substance. Furthermore, in Rupandehi's Siddharthanagar Municipality-1, Danda, police arrested three individuals on Thursday evening, seizing 12 ampoules of Diazepam, 16 ampoules of Promethazine, and 24 ampoules of Buprenorphine.

Those arrested were identified as 26-year-old Anish Ale, a resident of Siddharthanagar Municipality-2 Nauadihwa; 32-year-old Avinas Gurung, a resident of the same municipality-9 Anchalpur; and 22-year-old Sujan Saru, a resident of Kanchan Rural Municipality-3 Haraiya.

Police deployed from the Area Police Office, Belhiya, among others, apprehended them with the narcotics. Police stated that further investigation is underway regarding all incidents.
