Jhapa Registers 717 New Small and Cottage Industries in First Eight Months of Fiscal Year 2082/83

Jhapa. A total of 717 new domestic and small industries have been registered in the district up to the end of Falgun of the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to Khina Timsina, Information Officer at the Office of Cottage and Small Industries, 316 industries and 401 firms were registered at the office during that period.

During the same period, 635 industries and 627 commercial entities were renewed in the district. According to Information Officer Timsina, 125 industries and 88 commercial entities, totaling 213 industries, were dissolved in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, while 12 industries changed location, 33 underwent name transfers, 23 changed names, and 39 added objectives.

Timsina stated that although the number of industries formally closed down at the office is low, many industries have ceased operations due to non-renewal. The office collected revenue amounting to NPR 13,559,800 under various headings in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.
