Barcelona Thrashes Newcastle United 7-2 in Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg, Advances to Quarterfinals

Kathmandu. Spanish giant Barcelona registered a massive 7-2 victory over English club Newcastle United in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16. Barcelona entered the quarterfinals with an aggregate score of 8-3 after putting up a spectacular performance in the match held at Barcelona's home ground on Wednesday night.

With the first leg ending in a 1-1 draw, Barcelona played aggressively from the start in the second leg. Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski scored two goals each for Barcelona. Raphinha scored in the sixth and 72nd minutes, while Lewandowski added goals in the 56th and 61st minutes.

Furthermore, Barcelona's young star Lamine Yamal scored from a penalty in the first-half injury time. Marc Bernal in the 18th minute and Fermin Lopez in the 51st minute scored one goal each, securing the team's huge victory.

Anthony Elanga scored two goals for Newcastle, but it was not enough to avert the team's defeat. He scored in the 15th and 28th minutes, attempting to make the game competitive for a short period. However, Newcastle's defense line became helpless against Barcelona's strong attack in the second half.

With this victory, Barcelona has successfully reached the final eight of the Champions League with strong momentum.
