Heavy Rainfall Recorded in Chitwan, Gorkha, and Udayapur Amid Weather Changes

Kathmandu. Heavy rainfall occurred in Chitwan, Gorkha, and Udayapur on Thursday afternoon following a change in weather patterns. According to the records of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Udayapur recorded the highest rainfall in the last 3 hours at 82.2 millimeters.

Similarly, Gorkha experienced 80 millimeters of rain. The department stated that Chitwan received more than 60 millimeters of rainfall. By measurement standards, this constitutes heavy rainfall in all three locations. Katari in Udayapur and Barpak in Gorkha received the most precipitation. Rainfall exceeding 50 millimeters in a 24-hour period is classified as heavy rain.

The department also reported that it is raining in other areas. According to the department, rainfall was also recorded in districts including Lamjung, Makwanpur, Sindhupalchok, Sankhuwasabha, Ilam, Solukhumbu, Mustang, Bardiya, and Kaski.

The department's information officer, Dinkar Kayastha, informed that this rainfall is expected to reduce pollution levels somewhat.
