Over 10,000 Votes Declared Invalid in Dang District Elections

Dang. More than 10,500 votes have been declared invalid in Dang. Out of the total 251,368 votes cast across the three constituencies of the district during the counting process for the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, 10,698 votes were invalidated.

According to Gehendra Kunwar, Information Officer at the Lumbini Province Election Office, Dang, the invalid vote percentage stands at 4.25 percent. The highest number of invalid votes in the district was recorded in Constituency No. 1, where out of 80,446 votes cast, 4,057 were invalidated.

Similarly, in Constituency No. 3, 3,776 votes were invalidated out of 88,617 cast, while in Constituency No. 2, 2,865 votes were invalidated out of 82,305 cast. However, the invalid votes in the district have decreased compared to previous elections. In the 2079 election, out of 414,956 votes cast, 14,709 votes were invalidated, which was 5.92 percent.

Information Officer Kunwar stated that the slight decrease in invalid votes might be because there were no issues with election symbols this time, unlike in the past when elections were held among alliance parties. However, he added that the decrease is not significant.
