CPN-UML Leader Gokul Baskota Calls for Serious Review and Restructuring After Election Results

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota made an interesting comment on social media regarding the results of the House of Representatives election and the party's current status. He pointed out the need for serious review, restructuring, and reform when looking back at the ups and downs of party life.

He emphasized the need to move forward by analyzing the current situation rather than getting stuck only in nostalgic memories of the past. Baskota sarcastically commented on the degradation of the party's organizational structure, stating that a strong pyramid-like structure was turned into a mere stalk in the greed to add a spire.

His indication is that the organization, which should be strong down to the grassroots level, has become a burden only at the top. He questioned the working style of the leadership and the cadres, saying that while they were under the illusion of being popular among the people, they have actually only become dear to the leaders.

Baskota admitted that there is a danger of becoming extinct like dinosaurs politically if the footsteps of time are not followed and the party does not reform itself. He pointed out the necessity of moving the party forward with a new vision, new thinking, and a new structure, meaning re-vision, re-think, and re-structuring.
