DPM Gachchhadar vows to bring Act within 15 days
Kathmandu - The government is preparing to bring the Act relating to the local level governance within 15 days.
At a programme organised by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development in the capital city on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said that the Act relating to the local level governance would be finalized within 15 days. "This will create environment conducive for local level's operation," he said.
He said that the Ministry was actively working for the draft of the Act adding that the people's representatives were having problems in development works for lack of Act.
The DPM also said that the Constitution of Nepal is outstanding though his party has some reservation on some points.
Ministry's Secretary Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya assured full support from the side of ministry to make the local level autonomous, capable and strong.
He added that the towns would be clean in low cost if the community and the private sectors were given responsibility for the garbage collection.
Meanwhile, this year Dhankuta Municipality, Ilam Municipality and Hetauda Municipality were declared first, second and third respectively in terms of the town's best cleanliness.
The first, second and third were provided Rs 1 million, Rs 600,000 and Rs 400,000 in cash.
