Iranian Warship Attacked Off Sri Lankan Coast Amid US-Israel-Iran Tensions

Colombo/Tehran. On the fifth day of the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, an Iranian warship was attacked by a submarine near the Sri Lankan coast.

According to the Sri Lankan Navy, some bodies have been recovered from the vessel. 32 people were injured in this attack, and many are reported missing. Search and rescue operations are underway in the sea following the incident. According to the Navy spokesperson, the injured have been rescued and admitted to the hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

Initially, the Navy had reported 101 people missing and 78 injured after the attack. However, the spokesperson later clarified that the previously released figures were incorrect.

Iran Claims New Supreme Leader, Israel Issues Warning

Meanwhile, Iran has claimed that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has been selected as the new Supreme Leader. However, official confirmation will only come after Khamenei's funeral.

On the other hand, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has warned that whoever becomes the new leader in Iran after Ali Khamenei will be eliminated. Gallant stated that the name or location will make no difference; Israel will find and eliminate them.
