Independent Candidate Arrested for Allegedly Distributing Cash During House of Representatives Election Released on Personal Bond

Kathmandu. An independent candidate from Dhanusha Constituency No. 4, who was arrested while allegedly distributing money during the election for the House of Representatives, has been released. Dhanusha SP Rugam Kunwar told Ratopati that independent candidate Rajkishor Mahara, arrested on Tuesday, was released on personal bond (Hajir Jamani).

The police had recovered NPR 48,500 in cash and a diary from his possession. SP Kunwar stated that Mahara is being investigated while kept on personal bond, with instructions to appear when summoned. The police recovered the diary detailing the cash transactions and the cash itself.
