Senior Journalist Tripathi Frames Jhapa 5 Election as Battle for Nation's Future, Not Individual Victory

Kathmandu. Senior journalist and political analyst Devprakash Tripathi has commented that the upcoming election in Jhapa 5 is not just a contest for one individual, but a battle between those who support the nation and those who oppose it.

Writing a long status on social media, Tripathi stated that although CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has some personal weaknesses, his contribution to nationalism and the country's sovereignty is incomparable. He asserted that the question is not about the victory or defeat of a person, but whether the key to power will be kept in the hands of those who support the nation or handed over to the watchmen of foreign interests.

Tripathi also sharply criticized the candidate standing against Oli in Jhapa, without explicitly naming them. He described the fielding of a 'crude artist' who has 'burned Singha Durbar' and lacks any bright background against a development-oriented leader like Oli as mysterious. He hinted that this could be the work of an 'invisible force' and expressed confidence that the people of Jhapa will ensure Oli's victory.
