CPN leader Poudel hints at unification with FSFN

Baglung –Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) standing committee member Devendra Poudel has hinted at the possibility of unification of the CPN and Federal Socialist Forum, Nepal (FSFN). "Discussions and initiations have started in this regard," he said at a press conference here today.

There is a need for party unification for development, good governance and prosperity of the country, he said, adding that "the possibility of merger is high despite both parties having some ideological differences."

Merger would take place with other parties having similar ideology and political features, he said while suggesting that opposition Nepali Congress also may initiate unification with forces with similar ideology.

It may be noted that the FSFN led by Upendra Yadav joined the CPN-led government few days ago.
