China Pledges $4 Million in Aid for Nepal's Elections; Cabinet Approves Major Infrastructure and Judicial Decisions

Kathmandu. The Chinese government has announced it will provide $4 million USD for elections.

The Council of Ministers has decided to accept the amount to be received as a grant.

According to the government spokesperson and Home Minister, Om Prakash Aryal, the meeting also decided to approve the financial investment structure for the Budhigandaki Reservoir Project, as mentioned in the budget and programs for the current fiscal year.

Furthermore, the meeting decided to appoint Chief Judge of Kathmandu District Court, Diwakar Bhatta, as the Chairman of the Consumer Court Kathmandu, with the responsibility of overseeing the functions of the Kathmandu District Court as well.

The Council of Ministers also decided to designate the District Court for the prosecution and disposal of offenses under Section 140 of the Insurance Act, 2079, and has determined public holidays from Baisakh 1, 2083 BS to Chaitra MAsanta BS.

Spokesperson Aryal also informed that the meeting decided to form the GenZ Council.
