Man Arrested in Saptari for Burning CPN-UML Flag and Using Abusive Language

Saptari. Police have taken a young man into custody in Saptari for burning the flag and banner of the CPN-UML and using obscene language. Police launched an investigation after a video went viral on social media showing the burning of a CPN-UML flag bearing the sun symbol and a banner with a photo in Bhagwatpur, Ward No. 5 of Mahadeva Rural Municipality.

Identifying the person in the video who was inciting others, leveling various accusations against the party, and using vulgar language, the police arrested 31-year-old Hari Narayan Mandal. According to the District Police Office, Saptari, this incident occurred on the night of Falgun 6 at around 9 PM in Bhagwatpur.

Following the investigation based on the video circulated on social media, Mandal's involvement was established, and a search was conducted for him. Police apprehended him on the evening of Falgun 8 from Ward No. 3 of Mahadeva Rural Municipality. During interrogation after the arrest, Mandal admitted that the voice in the video was his and that he was the one who used the abusive language.

A case has been registered against the arrested Mandal under the offense against public peace, and legal proceedings have been initiated. Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson Dambar Bahadur Puri informed that further investigation is underway after obtaining a seven-day remand from the District Administration Office, Rajbiraj.
