Six punters nabbed

Kathmandu –The police made public six people arrested from the Capital on the charge of involvement in gambling amid a press conference here today. 


The arrestees--Gaurab Tiwari, Bhupendra Shamsher Kunwar, Anjan KC, Bijaya Shrestha, Narendra Suwal and Dinesh Bogati--have been charged with running sports gambling (recently held Indian Premier League Cricket) from various places of Kathmandu like Thamel, Lajimpat, Durbar Marga, and various places of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. A team from the Metropolitan Police Range acted on a tip off, and made the arrest. 
The police also found approximately Rs 130 million from bank accounts of the arrestees.
