Rastriya Prajatantra Party Leader Criticizes Rashtriya Swatantra Party Workers for Disrespecting Late King Birendra's Statue

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Khushbu Oli has criticized the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) workers and well-wishers for allegedly engaging in indecent behavior by climbing on the statue of the late King Birendra during an RSP program in Tulsipur, Dang.

Publishing her views on social media platform Facebook on Saturday, leader Oli described the incident as a matter of serious public concern and raised serious questions about the discipline and political culture of the new party.

Regarding the act at the statue located in the Tulsipur intersection, she stated that this cannot be considered a 'momentary mistake.'

'This gives a deep indication of how far our society is moving away from its own civilizational memory, cultural dignity, and historical consciousness,' Oli wrote, 'For many, this shows a lack of political literacy and civic education.'

Reminding that historical figures and public monuments carry the collective identity of society, she warned that such behavior would be detrimental to the concerned parties.
