19 Disaster Incidents Reported Across Nepal in 24 Hours, Primarily Fire Outbreaks

Kathmandu. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, a total of 19 disaster incidents occurred across the country from 10 AM on Falgun 4 to 10 AM on Falgun 5.

Of these, 15 incidents were related to fire outbreaks. The authority's data indicates an increase in fire incidents due to carelessness. It was observed that these fire incidents could have been prevented even with normal precautions during the winter season.

According to the Authority, one fire incident each occurred in Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, and Morang, while two fire incidents each occurred in Siraha, Sarlahi, and Syangja. Similarly, property damage due to fire was reported in Bara, Parsa, Rupandehi, and Bajhang.

Wildfires were reported in Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, and Sarlahi. Furthermore, an animal attack occurred in Baitadi. Six people were injured in the disasters, and property damage amounting to NPR 3.412 million occurred.

The Authority has urged the public to exercise caution as the likelihood of fire outbreaks is high due to dry conditions everywhere during the winter season.
