Nepali Embassy in London Marks 263rd Army Day with Special Ceremony

London. The Nepali Embassy in the UK organized a special ceremony at the embassy premises on Monday evening to mark the 263rd Establishment Day of the Nepali Army. The formal program commenced after the national anthems of both Nepal and the UK were played at the event.

The ceremony was jointly inaugurated by Major General Carl Boswell CBE of the British Army and Acting Ambassador Bipin Duwadi through the lighting of a lamp. Speaking at the event, Acting Ambassador Duwadi discussed the glorious history of the Nepali Army and its contribution to the nation. He praised the professionalism and dedication shown by the Nepali Army in areas such as border security, rescue and relief operations during natural disasters, and participation in United Nations peacekeeping missions. He paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives while defending the country.

Major General Boswell congratulated the Nepali Army on its 263rd Establishment Day and openly praised its history, discipline, and global reputation. He described the Nepal-UK military relationship as 'unique,' noting that joint training, disaster management cooperation, professional exchange, and a shared commitment to international peace and stability have further strengthened the relationship between the two countries. He also stated that the Gurkha soldiers are a living symbol of Nepal-UK friendship.

At the beginning of the program, Military Attaché Brigadier General Anup Shah welcomed the guests and highlighted the discipline, dedication, and professional expertise of the Nepali Army. Audio-visual materials covering various activities and achievements of the Nepali Army were also screened during the event.

The embassy stated that the ceremony was attended by a significant number of senior military officials from the UK, defense attachés from various countries, government representatives, and leaders from the Nepali community.
