CPN Leader Prachanda Insists on Timely Elections as the Way Forward for Nepal

Baglung. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), has stated that elections must be held on the scheduled date. Speaking at a public dialogue program organized in Burtibang, Baglung on Thursday, he asserted that elections are the alternative to provide a way out for the nation.

Chairman Dahal mentioned that although some political parties have raised issues regarding an all-party government and the restoration of parliament against elections, the CPN has chosen the path of elections. He stated that immediately following the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24 last year, they chose the option of going to the people.

Chairman Dahal further stated that the upcoming elections should be viewed as an extraordinary opportunity to stand in favor of national defense and sovereignty. He remarked that although political parties and the public desired elections in 2084, the current election is taking place due to the creation of a compelling situation.

The House of Representatives election is scheduled for the upcoming Falgun 21.
