Ward offices in Uttarganga without secretaries

Rukum – The ward offices in Putha Uttarganga rural municipality – located in a remote eastern part of Rukum district – have been operating without secretaries for the past nine months.

Due to ultra-remoteness of the location which lacks road infrastructure, the secretaries at the ward offices moved out seeking transfer orders to other locations.

Uttarganga rural municipality's Chief, Om Prakash Gharti, said the secretaries have chosen not to work at such a remote location. He added that there were four secretaries before mid October, 2017 with one overseeing the duties in three to four ward offices.

One of the four secretaries has also moved out while three others have relocated to western Rukum without informing the municipal office.

Gharti shared that the General Administration, Ministry of Local Development and District Administration Office have been repeatedly informed over the situation but in vain.
