Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa Vows Strict Action Against Corruption

Siraha. Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has stated that he will take strict measures against corruption.

Addressing a welcoming program organized for him in Golbazar, Siraha on Tuesday, he announced that the Nepali Congress will launch an anti-corruption campaign over the next five years.

Chairman Thapa stated that Nepal is afflicted by a major disease and that the next 5 years will be spent on its treatment. He said, 'The major disease afflicting Nepal must be treated. That major disease is corruption in Nepal. A jihad is needed to eradicate this corruption from its roots, a struggle is needed, and the Nepali Congress will lead it.'

He committed that Congress now has no license to engage in corruption and that they themselves will lead the campaign against it.

Thapa, who arrived three hours later than scheduled for the welcoming program, explained that he could not arrive on time because the program organized by his colleagues was different from what he had expected.
