Department Fines Rice Mill NPR 50,500 During Market Inspection

Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection, which regularly monitors the market, has fined one firm an amount equivalent to NPR 50,500.

Following irregularities found during the on-site inspection, the department took action against Rajendra Rice Mill in accordance with Section 38 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.

Similarly, Swastik Nepal Trading Pvt. Ltd. has been directed to appear before the department within three days with business-related documents. The department inspected a total of 21 firms across Kathmandu and Lalitpur on Sunday.

The department conducted the on-site inspection in collaboration with local administration, consumer rights activists, and stakeholders. Of the total firms inspected by the department, 20 were given corrective directives.
