Home Minister Stresses Importance of Social Harmony for Prosperous Nepal

Kathmandu. Home Minister Omprakash Aryal stated that social harmony and coexistence play a crucial role in building a prosperous Nepal.

Speaking at the Silver Jubilee and National Indigenous Knowledge Conference of the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities, held at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu, he said the government is committed to implementing the principle of inclusion in line with the spirit of the constitution.

Minister Aryal, who is also the government spokesperson, mentioned that the government has been genuinely implementing the inclusive spirit envisioned by the Constitution of Nepal and will continue this in the coming days.

He asserted that the Constitution of Nepal ensures the rights of indigenous nationalities and clarified that the government has been fulfilling its responsibility to protect the rights of all communities.

"The government is continuously striving to increase the participation of all communities in the state's policy-making level," the Home Minister said, "The principle of proportional inclusion is the core spirit of the constitution. It is everyone's duty to uphold it."

Tapa Bahadur Magar, Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, stated that while undertaking development and prosperity work, the government must emphasize the protection and promotion of the cultural, linguistic, and physical knowledge of indigenous nationalities.

Resham Gurung, Vice-Chairman of the Foundation, informed that the three-day conference was organized with the objective of conserving and promoting the ancestral knowledge and skills of indigenous nationalities.
