Barcelona Extends La Liga Lead with Dominant 3-0 Victory Over Mallorca

Nou Camp. League-leading Barcelona stunned relegation-threatened Mallorca 3-0, widening their lead at the top of the Spanish La Liga to four points.

At the home ground Nou Camp, veteran striker Robert Lewandowski and young talents Lamine Yamal and Marc Bernal scored for Barcelona. Early in the match, Mallorca's Jan Virjili posed a significant challenge to Barcelona defender Jules Koundf{e}, but failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Lewandowski gave Barcelona the initial lead by converting a ball he received from a rebound off a shot by Marcus Rashford that hit Dani Olmo, scoring from 9 yards out. In the second half, coach Hansi Flick's team appeared completely dominant. After the 60th minute, 18-year-old Lamine Yamal doubled the team's lead with an excellent strike from 25 yards away. This is Yamal's third goal in the last six matches against Mallorca.

Towards the end of the match, another 18-year-old player, Marc Bernal, secured Barcelona's victory with a goal on a counter-attack. This was his first goal for the club.

With this win, Barcelona has set a record of winning all 11 matches played at home this season.

Now Barcelona's focus will shift to the Copa del Rey semi-final against Atletico Madrid on Thursday, while the defeated Mallorca will face Real Betis in their next match.
