Rastriya Swatantra Party Office in Jhapa Vandalized with Stones

Jhapa. A contact office of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) located at the house of Jayaram Adhikari in Kamal Rural Municipality-2, falling under Jhapa Constituency No. 5, was targeted with stone pelting in the middle of the night. The RSP had established the contact office on the upper floor of the house for election strategy planning and for candidate Balen Shah to meet with locals.

According to Jhapa Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, an unidentified group suddenly hurled stones last night. The stone impact shattered the glass of one window of the house. "Although the RSP had rented one room, the glass panes in the area where the landlord resides were also broken due to the vandalism," DSP Khadka stated.

Senior RSP leader Balen Shah is contesting the election from Jhapa 5 this time. The police have initiated an investigation after preparing an inventory of the incident site and have started searching for the culprits.
