At Least 17 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Strikes in Gaza, Hospital Officials Report

At least 17 Palestinians were killed in Israeli military attacks in Gaza. Hospital officials stated on Wednesday that most of the deceased were women and children.

Israel claimed it launched the attack after its soldiers were wounded by gunfire, with one sustaining serious injuries.

Hospital officials reported that seven women and five children were among those killed in the attack. The deceased include a 5-month-old baby and another baby just 10 days old.

Palestinians have been dying daily in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas on October 10. Gaza's Ministry of Health stated that 530 people have been killed by the Israeli side since the ceasefire.

‘The genocidal war against our people in the Gaza Strip continues,’ Dr. Mohammad Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, said in a Facebook post. ‘Where is the ceasefire? Where are the mediators?’ he questioned in the post.

Mediators have condemned the attacks. Hamas called these attacks a violation of the agreement, but the Israeli army claims that Hamas violated the agreement or that it is responding to attacks on its soldiers. The Israeli army stated that four soldiers have been killed since the ceasefire took effect.
