Prachanda Urges Biplav to Join Communist Unity After Self-Reflection

Kathmandu. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), has urged Biplav to join the broader communist unity after self-reflection.

While inducting leaders who defected from Biplav-led party into the CPN at the party office in Parisdanda on Wednesday, Prachanda urged Biplav to join the broader unity with self-reflection, warning that he would regret it later if he did not join the communist unity.

He argued that efforts to bring Biplav into the unity while in the Socialist Front had reached the final stage, but Biplav's leadership got lost in the whirlpool of ideological confusion after the 'Genji' movement.

Stating that the attempt to gain strength by uniting components of the communist movement was made in an extraordinary situation of the nation, not out of any impulse, Prachanda opined that Biplav has now missed that opportunity. He added that they still hold no resentment towards Biplav and are ready to welcome him if he comes with self-reflection.

Prachanda emphasized the need for unity, stating that the country could face another disaster if they could not go for a nationwide campaign unitedly because the country is currently in an uncomfortable situation.

He also called upon other communist components to join the unity. Leaders including Chiranjivi Dhakal, Central Committee member of Biplav-led CPN (Maoist) and former chairman of the student organization, were inducted into the CPN.
