Literature and culture strengthen bilateral ties: literary figures

Kathmandu – A special literary programme has been organized in Dhaka, capital city of Bangladesh with an objective of strengthening bilateral ties between Nepal and Bangladesh recently. 

Addressing the programme, deputy speaker of Bangladesh Parliament Md. Fazle Rabbi Miah said that the literature and culture were enhancing an age-old tie existing between two countries. 

Similarly, Nepali ambassador to Bangladesh Prof Dr Chop Lal Bhusal shared that the social and cultural similarities were strengthening bilateral relations since long. 

Speaking in the programme, poet Manjul said that Bangladeshi people had the feeling of brotherhood and fraternity that reflect in their writings as well. 

Cooperation between society and literary organizations in Bangladesh on the issues of literary and cultural exchanges has been in place for the past 10 years. 

Likewise, various Nepali literary creations have been translated into the Bengali language and vice-versa in this period. 

A delegation from the Nepal Srashta Samaj (Nepal Creative Writers’ Society-NCWS), at the cordial invitation of Bangladesh-Nepal Friendship Association had left for Dhaka to participate in the Nepal-Bangladesh Bilateral Special Literary and Cultural Interactive Programme on April 27. 

The delegation comprises, literary figure Pawan Alok, senior journalist and Nepal Literary Journalists Association chair Nagendra Raj Sharma, writers Saraswati Sharma ‘Jigyashu', Nawaraj Pudasaini ‘Jyotsana’, noted poet Manjul, and litterateur Sushmita Nepal among others.
