Voluntary Blood Donors' Society gets new leadership

Kathmandu – The third national general convention of Nepal Voluntary Blood Donors' Society has elected a 13-member new executive committee under the leadership of Prem Sagar Karmacharya.

 

The election was unopposed. Dhruba Thapaliya (vice chair), Radha Krishna Tandukar (general secretary), Rajan Maharjan (secretary), Meena Shrestha (treasurer) and Krishna Chauhan Chhetri, Reshma Rokka, Bheem BK, Shiba Kumar Saha, Gunna Kumar Gupta, Tanka Pariyar, Shyam Gautam and Tirthram Awasthi (members) are on the committee. 


Society newly elected chair Karmacharya has pledged to contribute to the efforts meant for systematizing the blood transfusion works directly linked with human life.

 

He demanded the state ensure free blood supply for needy patients. The society has its networks in 23 districts and it plans to expand its presence nationwide. The two-day general convention was concluded May 1.
