PM asks people's representatives to bring children to school

Surunga, Jhapa – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that no children would henceforth be deprived from going to school. 


Addressing the first district assembly held in Bhadrapur, the headquarters of Jhapa today, Prime Minister Oli, who is also chair of the CPN-UML, directed the people's representatives to find out-of-school children and enroll them in the schools.

 

"Please go to the villages to find children who have not got the opportunity to go to school", he said while adding that no children will be deprived from going to school from now onwards. 


As education is the first step to progress, the country will not advance if children are deprived of education, the Prime Minister noted. 


Meanwhile, the Prime Minister today inaugurated the upgrading work of the Charpane-Chaitubari-Motigadh and the Sadhukuti-Ghodamara-Rajgadh road sections. He also inaugurated the Laxmipur-Sadhutar road section built under the Rural Road Network Project. 


Also today, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a concrete bridge to be built over the Biring river in Arjundhara municipality. 


The Prime Minister is scheduled to stay here until tomorrow and will be flagging off upgrading works of the Padajungi-Jharka, Baluwathan-Chapramari, Khajurgachi roads, according to the PM's Press Coordinator Chetan Adhikari.

He will also kick off the Damak Gold Cup football tournament beginning in Damak tomorrow and attending around a half a dozen more events and programmes in his home constituency. 


During the visit, Prime Minister Oli is accompanied by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghubhir Mahaseth, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lalbabu Pandit, Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar and Chief Minister of Province-1 Sherdhan Rai.
