PM Karki extends best wishes to chess players
Kathmandu, Dec 11: Prime Minister Sushila Karki conveyed her best wishes to two chess players who are traveling to Doha, Qatar to compete in the World Chess Championship.
During a meeting with players Sushrut Dahal from Jhapa and Ashish Phuyal from Dolakha at her official residence, Baluwatar on Thursday, PM Karki extended her best wishes. "Compete in a manner that elevates Nepal's image in the global arena," she wished.
Players duo Dahal and Phuyal said Nepal's involvement in this event is significant in the history of six decades. They pledged to perform well in the match. Nepal is participating for the first time in the Rapid and Blitz categories of the chess championship.
The competition is scheduled to take place from December 25 to 31.
