'Karbakeli Eco Trek' through thickets of alpine jungles a must for backpackers
Beni ,Myagdi – The 'Karbakeli Eco Trek' will soon join the list of official trek routes in Nepal with pristine bounties of nature in offer and a jungle safari.
The locals are set to bring the route into life with a temple of the Pun Magar community's Chief God Karbakeli Baba at Ramche area of Annapurna rural municipality – 8 as the prime destination of the route.
With locals' engagement and Concept Nepal's technical backing, Karbakeli Eco Trek's Chair, Yam Bahadur Pun, said the publicity of the trek route has started. "This trek route is attractive from the viewpoint of jungle safari, the tourists will arrive here to relish the juice of natural beauty," Pun added.
The route has been prepared so that five other routes will be used. The route has been publicized as starting from Pokhara, the capital of Province no 4, to Ghorepani, Pun Hill, Fulbari, Kafaldanda, Karbakeli and Beni Bazaar.
The tourists will be offered a route through Ghorepani and the famous sunrise at Pun Hill before submerging into the thickets of jungle leading up to Karbakeli. Amidst the thickets of the jungle on the route, the trekkers will also have a chance to take rest at the Deurali community lodge.
The visitors will get to see the panoramic view of Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt Machapuchare, Mt Gurja and Mt Annapurna among half a dozen peaks along the Great Himalayan Range. The indigenous culture and traditions in the villages and the way of life will be another attraction for the holidaymakers.
At the temple located 2,200 metres above sea level at Kafaldanda, the idols of gods and goddesses of the Magar community including that of their Chief God Karbakeli Baba, his two wives Himal and Fimala, elder son Ramchan and youngest son Kulchan have been placed.
The local villagers have also been calling on the authorities to enlist the temple as a national heritage site.
